Exhibition Schedule  Spring & Summer 2009  

 

"CALL TO ARMS ~ Potsdam and the Civil War" will explore the contributions made by the people of Potsdam through the use of our archives and artifacts. See personal letters, bibles, photographs, uniforms, buttons, spurs, swords, and other artifacts and archives from the museum collection.

 
"Potsdam People" is an exhibition designed for the bicentennial of Potsdam in 2004 and celebrates the lives and accomplishments of many citizens of our community. This exhibition utilizes images from the photographic collection, artifacts from the collection and well researched information on our community.


Holiday Exhibit 2009:    December 2009 through March 2010

" LOCOMOTION - A History of Trains and Railroads in Northern New York"

View photographs of trains and train related topics from the museum archives, including advertisements, artifacts and clothing. Model working trains on loan from members of the community on on display as well.


Spring 2010:  March 2010 through October 2010

"Medical Marvels and Maladies" An exhibition of medical instruments, doctors bags, uniforms, quackery, a tatoo kit with vibrant illustrations of WWI and WWII era tatoos. Included in this exhibit will be a section of Linda Richards, the first trained nurse in America who was born in Potsdam, N.Y.
